Scottish Government 'must consider consumers as it awards water contract'

23 Feb 2015

Citizens Advice Scotland has urged the Scottish Government to consider the needs of consumers as their top priority when awarding its water supply contract.

CAS CEO Margaret Lynch says,

“This contract is very significant, both for the public and for third sector organisations in Scotland as it will determine the service they receive for their water and sewerage for the next three years.

“Whoever wins the contract in this increasingly competitive market will need to show that they provide both value for money and a high quality service for non-domestic consumers.

“We would urge the Scottish Government to keep the end-users of this vital service in mind when they award the contract.”
