Activities across Scotland last week marked Big Energy Saving Week (BESW).
BESW aimed to help consumers check they were on the correct tariff and offer tips on how to switch supplier or insulate their homes. Alongside a national publicity campaign, Citizens Advice Bureaux held events across Scotland.
Fergus Ewing MSP helped launch BESW at Nairn CAB, and their own week of activities included information stalls at local supermarkets in which their energy advisers assisted the public. North Ayrshire Citizens Advice staged a week of public information roadshow events across the region, with around 20 partner organisations also taking stalls. Airdrie CAB held a similarly successful event in the Town Hall, with a wide-range of advice on offer to the public.
Elsewhere, CABs organised outreach activities in Arbroath, Stow, Lauder, Galashiels and Motherwell among others, while Clydesdale CAB was able to host specialist advice clinics for most of the week.
Though BESW is now over, advice can still be obtained in bureaux, online at www.bigenergysavingweek.org.uk or by phone on 0808 808 2282 .
