    The Inspector of Funeral today published her Annual Report. This is based on her initial engagement with funeral directors across Scotland, exploring focusing on: culture, ethos and confidence in management; conveyance and care of the deceased; understanding, recording and acting on the wishes of the deceased or bereaved; asset management; and audit of procedures, practice and record keeping .

This is Scottish Power's second price rise this year, with dual fuel prices rising by 5.5% on 1 June. It follows Ofgem's decision to increase the level of their Safeguard tariff.

    Citizens Advice Scotland has responded to British Gas's announcement that it will increase the price of its Standard Variable Tariff (SVT) by 3.8%, taking effect from 1 October 2018. This follows a previous price rise of 5.5% announced in April, and will affect around 3.5 million customers.
