Volunteer as a fundraiser

Each Scottish citizens advice bureau is responsible for securing the money it needs to deliver a service to its community. Many bureaux could really benefit from some help with fundraising!

Bureaux gain their funding from a mixture of places. Most Scottish bureaux gain some funding from their local authority. Other ways of raising money include:

  • Awards from trusts and grant-making bodies
  • Donations
  • Corporate supporters (including the donation of goods and services)
  • Fund-raising events
  • Licensed street collections

Fundraising is one of the responsibilities of the CAB’s management committee. If you want to know more, you can download a leaflet on volunteer fundraising for the CAB service at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, contact your local bureau to find out what you can do to help your CAB help more people.
