Previous campaigns

Some of our previous campaigns from recent years are detailed below. As with our recent campaigns, these are examples of how Citizens Advice Scotland work collaboratively with our bureaux network to design campaigns on key issues that help people who need it most. This has included a range of advice during the Covid-19 pandemic when many of us experienced redundancies and money worries; debt advice; and energy saving advice.

Keep renting right

Renting in Scotland is changing and everyday we help tenants and landlords navigate this. Recently, we've seen an increasing number of tenants seeking advice about how to manage rent on top of the increased cost of everyday essentials such as energy, food and fuel.

Stressed about debt

If you are feeling worried about debt or falling behind on bills, you are not alone. High costs of energy, food and fuel mean that many people are finding it impossible to keep up. But the Citizens Advice network in Scotland is here for you, with free, confidential and impartial advice in a variety of ways.

Council tax: Check to save campaign

Debt is a significant issue for our clients, and specifically council tax debt is the most common type of debt our clients are affected by. Our evidence demonstrates that people pay other debts, like guarantor loans, credit cards and catalogues, instead of their council tax.

Worried this winter? Let's chat.

If you are worried about heating bills and the cost of living this winter, the Citizens Advice network is here to help.

Continued high living costs and months of unaffordable energy bills means many of us are worried about managing payments again this winter. Sadly, too many of us are switching off the heating, turning to credit to cover essential livings costs, or feeling like there is no solution to unmanageable bills.
