Gambling support service

If you are worried about your own or someone else’s gambling habits, we can help. Whether you're looking for holistic advice related to debt, housing, employment and relationships, or signposting to focused gambling support, our trained advisers can help.

What are gambling harms?

Gambling can lead to a variety of harms which can affect both the person gambling and those around them. These harms can include (but are not limited to) financial distress, relationship breakdowns, emotional turmoil and negatively impacted mental and physical health.

The Scottish Government have recently launched the ‘Gambling Levy’ which aims to tackle and raise awareness to the levels of gambling harms in Scotland and offer support for those who need it. Our helpline is part of that ‘eco-system’, with each organisation working collaboratively towards the goal of reducing gambling harms across Scotland.

If you or someone you know has been affected by gambling and the harms that can surround it, our advisers can help you navigate this by phoning our helpline on 0800 328 1131.

How can we help

Tackling gambling harms can involve several stages. We can help with:

  • Quick questions- answering queries to help assess your situation.
  • Holistic advice- Identifying areas where we can provide support for due to gambling or that have led you or an affected other to gamble.
  • Signposting- helping you to reach the services you need for more gambling-specific support such as counselling and support networks.
