What we do

What we do

The Citizens Advice network in Scotland delivers advice services in almost 300 service points across the country, from city centres to island communities. We also assist vulnerable consumers from across Scotland, England and Wales with energy and postal service complaints through the Extra Help Unit.

We use our experience of helping people to build the most comprehensive data set in Scotland. This data set tells us about the help people need, and we use this information to advocate for change and to influence Scotland’s and the UK’s governments.

In 2024-25 the Citizens Advice network in Scotland:

  • helped 196,540 people
  • dealt with over 702,568 advice issues
  • put over £169.4 million back in people’s pockets.

Data Reports

Citizens Advice Scotland gathers information from Citizens Advice Bureaux and our online advice website. One of the ways we use this information is to produce data reports to show demand for advice across our network.
