The latest edition of the Energy Brief underlines the pressing energy challenges people across Scotland are facing and explores potential solutions.  

Key findings from the Energy Brief include:  

• The total energy debt brought to CABs from Jan to March 2026 was £2.7 million – the highest in any 3-month period.
• Almost 4,000 people needed crisis energy support to stay on supply – with prices set to soar from July this  will worsen without government intervention. 
• People reliant on heating oil felt the impact of global events harshly and swiftly, even with the support of the Scottish Emergency Heating Oil Scheme.
