Government Agencies ‘Aggressive, Unhelpful and Incompetent’

The impact of the government’s welfare reforms is the main concern among Scotland’s CAB advisers going into 2012, according to a survey published today. The survey also reveals a number of angry comments from CAB staff about some of the agencies they regularly have to deal with on behalf of their clients - including government departments, jobcentres and fuel companies.

Citizens Advice Scotland and our member bureaux have a strong track record of partnership working to deliver advice to some of Scotland's most vulnerable people. Scottish Campaign on Welfare Reform

CAS is a key and lead member of the Scottish Campaign on Welfare Reform (SCoWR), which is a unique coalition which has been working together since 2006, campaigning for a better welfare benefits system.

Our governance

The Chief Executive Officer, Derek Mitchell, took up the post on 28 August 2017.

The Board of Trustees is elected by member bureaux through the Annual General Meeting.
