About the job

This is a voluntary role with East Dunbartonshire Citizens Advice Bureau, to join our Board and assist in the Strategic direction of a busy CAB.

East Dunbartonshire Citizens Advice Bureau (EDCAB) was formed in 1995 to provide a holistic advice service to the residents of East Dunbartonshire. Currently we deal with more than 20, 000 enquiries per annum.

As a member of the Scottish Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux network, East Dunbartonshire CAB provides free, independent, impartial and confidential advice and information to ensure that people understand their rights and responsibilities, and can express their needs effectively.

East Dunbartonshire Citizens Advice Bureau has its main office in Kirkintilloch also premises in Bishopbriggs and outreach points in community facilities throughout East Dunbartonshire.  EDCAB has 24 members of staff and 32 volunteer advisers, plus 10 board members. The Bureau supports individuals with a wide range of general enquiries as well as providing specialist support on welfare benefits, debt, utilities and employment.

We are currently looking to recruit individuals who live locally and would like to contribute to the local community by joining our Board of Trustees. We are seeking team players who have strategic vision, independent judgement, and a willingness to give time and commitment to help contribute and add value to our organisation.

Applicants will be over 18 and have the experience and skills to ensure that the charity continues to develop and provide high-quality long-term services. As a Trustee, you will be required to contribute to the good governance of the organisation which will involve attendance at regular board meetings (6 weekly) and an annual AGM.

How to apply

If you would like to make a difference and contribute to the continuous development of EDCAB, get in touch with any questions or for further information.
