More about the job
Angus Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. We are a friendly and welcoming team made up of 14 paid staff and around 25 volunteers that offer generalist advice to clients alongside more specific projects. We have been successful in securing funding to deliver a money support service to people in Angus who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing. Our aim is to address the known link between poverty/money issues and mental health by providing practical support to clients around their finances. We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our team to deliver this project.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest in working with clients to improve their financial situation and ability to manage their money. It would be advantageous if the candidate had experience of the welfare benefits system and/or money management support (such as budgeting). More important is a willingness to learn and a determination to support clients to achieve the best possible outcomes. We expect candidates to be self-motivated, have excellent teamwork skills, communication and organisational skills and be computer literate with a commitment to continuous improvement. They will understand the importance of excellent, person-centred, customer services and a commitment to equality and diversity.
You will be based initially in our office in Arbroath, but there may be the need to travel to our Forfar and Montrose offices, or wider across Angus to support people in partner locations. We are currently operating a hybrid model of working so it will be possible to work from home alongside the office and outreach locations.
