More about the job

About the job

Angus Citizens Advice Bureau (SCIO) is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people.  As a member of the Citizens Advice network in Scotland, Angus CAB offers quality services to local communities whilst being committed to advocating for change within society.

Since its establishment in 1985, Angus CAB now has offices in Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose which are supported by over 50 volunteers and 15 members of staff. The Bureau supports individuals with a number of enquiries each year whilst project staff provide specialist support on topics including social security, debt, utilities, NHS concerns & complaints and support for the armed forces and their families.

Angus CAB is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Chief Officer with experience of effectively managing people, to be responsible for the overall operational and strategic management of the organisation. The Chief Officer will work with the Board of Trustees to achieve the strategic aims of the charity in a competitive third sector environment.

As Angus CAB looks to the future of advice services, the Board of Trustees have agreed to a strategy that focusses on developing multi-channel services to ensure that the organisation remains both accessible and adaptable to change. The successful candidate will therefore be responsible for leading the organisation through this exciting period.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate relevant recent experience and knowledge of current trends within the third sector. Applicants should also be able to evidence strong analytical skills as well as good financial management. A good communicator with the ability to negotiate and persuade, the successful candidate must also be able to develop and maintain relationships with statutory and non-statutory partners and funders.

Location

The county of Angus boasts stunning landscapes from the rugged coast to scenic glens, ideal for outdoor pursuits.
