Citizens Advice Scotland's response to the Consumer Credit review

CAS has responded to the Department of Business, Innovation and Skill's call for evidence on the consumer credit and personal insolvency review. The review looks at issues, practices and policies around store cards, credit cards, high cost credit products, debt remedies and credit related debt issues.

Store and credit card debt and unsecured personal loan debt are the two biggest issues brought to bureaux in Scotland. Other consumer debt problems dealt with by bureaux include 11,294 bank overdraft issues, 6,949 catalogue debt issues, and 4,603 fuel debt issues.
