The main focus of this role is to provide a full advice, information and representation service to residents of East Dunbartonshire on the welfare benefits system.
An extensive knowledge of the welfare benefits system is essential, in particular Mandatory Reconsideration, appeals and the processes of Tribunal services. The post will also cover benefits devolved to the Scottish Social Security system. Knowledge and experience of legislation associated with Tribunal representation is essential, as is excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The post will be based in the CAB between Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch although the service will be delivered in various outreach locations throughout East Dunbartonshire. There will also be a requirement to provide home visits.
Current driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
