Are you interested in becoming a Volunteer Adviser?
Due to the impact of the pandemic and the escalating cost of living crisis there has been a substantial increase in the demand for advice from members of the public all over Rutherglen and Cambuslang. Rutherglen and Cambuslang Citizens Advice Bureau is therefore now seeking to recruit volunteers to train as advisers.
What does Rutherglen and Cambuslang Citizens Advice Bureau do?
Rutherglen and Cambuslang Citizens Advice Bureau offers free, independent, impartial and confidential advice to the public on a wide range of subjects. Examples of regular issues we receive enquiries on include: welfare benefits, money and debt; housing; employment; immigration, consumer and energy issues; relationship and family issues and legal matters.

Who can volunteer with the Rutherglen and Cambuslang Citizens Advice Bureau?
Anyone can volunteer. You don’t have to come with formal qualifications or a vast amount of knowledge. Our training will help you become a confident adviser or receptionist with a constantly updated information system to work with.
And because we always want our staff to reflect the community they serve; we hope people of all ages and backgrounds will be interested in finding out more about volunteering with their local CAB.
Volunteer advisers:
We are looking for a minimum time commitment from trained advisers of 6 hours per week delivered either on one full day or two half days per week advising the public. The advice service is open from 10am – 3 pm Monday to Friday.
Delivery of Advice
At present advice delivery by our volunteers is focused on face to face but we also do telephone and email advice. This is principally delivered at our premises at Kyle Court, 17 Main Street, Cambuslang, G72 7EX.
