More about the job

About the job

Citizens Advice Bureau in Glasgow have many years’ experience of providing excellent information and advice services to local communities. If you are interested in becoming an important part of a vibrant and dynamic organisation, and have a passion for advice work, then this could be the very role for you!

Synopsis –

Glasgow North West CAB, Bridgeton CAB and Pollok CAB have come together to deliver a new project, through Glasgow City Council funding, to provide advice to parents and families in High School locations throughout Glasgow.  We will work alongside GCC and other advice agencies to reach those in the communities that need help with a range of topics such as benefits, debt, money advice and other issues.  The project is funded for a 1 year period initially and we aim to make a big impact through our work by assisting to lift people out of poverty and enable them to obtain all their entitlements.  This will be a crucial and testing time for many and the need for advice will be increased.  We are therefore delighted to be a part of this project as the ethos of CAB offices in Glasgow is to empower those most in need.

We require 2 full time advisers, 1 to be based in Bridgeton CAB and 1 to be based at Pollok CAB to start with us as soon as possible.  Ideally the candidate will require a driving licence and use of their own vehicle (expenses will be paid). You will require to have experience of delivering high quality advice up to level 2, in line with Scottish National Standards of Advice, particularly on all benefits (UK and SG), debt and financial inclusion/money advice.  You will be willing to travel between various High School locations in Glasgow, your office and some home working may also be required. There may be a requirement to work occasional evenings.
