We are currently looking for a full-time Policy Officer to join the Impact team in our Edinburgh offices. The position is offered on a permanent basis.

The Impact team at Citizens Advice Scotland seeks to achieve positive change through two main routes:

  • Informing and empowering individuals to take action through information, education and campaigning
  • Changing policy, practice and law

We work with governments, regulators and business at a UK and Scottish level on improving areas of particular detriment, undertake research and deliver awareness and education campaigns. 

The Policy Officer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects within the Citizens Advice Scotland Impact Workplan across different areas but will initially focus on working on Social Justice.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of relevant policy areas across the UK and Scotland, including any associated regulations. Ideally, you’ll have good understanding of Social Justice issues such as social security, employment and/or housing. You will also have a great ability to effectively interpret quantitative and qualitative data as well as excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
