About the job

We are currently looking for a full-time Policy Manager (Post and Communications) to join the Impact team. This post is offered on a fixed term basis until the end of March 2020 and is based in our Edinburgh offices. 

The Impact team at Citizens Advice Scotland seeks to achieve positive change through two main routes:

  • Informing and empowering individuals to take action through information, education and campaigning
  • Changing policy, practice and law

We work with governments, regulators and business at a UK and Scottish level on improving areas of particular detriment, undertake research and deliver awareness and education campaigns. 

The Policy Manager (Post and Communications) will be responsible for delivery of the policy or advocacy strategy in Post and Communications. This will include management of the workplan and resources, developing policy positions and undertaking advocacy activities.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar role at managerial level. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant policy areas across the UK and Scotland, including any associated regulations. You will also be an analytical thinker and have excellent influencing, stakeholder and communication skills. Experience of working with the media would also be desirable.
