More about the job

About the job

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland. CAS, our 61 member CAB, the Citizen Advice consumer service, and the Extra Help Unit, form Scotland’s largest independent advice network. Advice provided by our service is free, independent, confidential, impartial and available to everyone. We are champions for both citizens and consumers and in 2014/15 the Citizens Advice Service in Scotland helped over 323,000 clients in Scotland deal with over one million issues overall.

We currently have a vacancy for a Personal Assistant to provide support to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Board and Senior Leadership Team. This role will also provide generalist administration support for the organisation as required.

The successful candidate will have strong experience as an executive/personal assistant or similar, and will be a highly effective and organised individual with strong administrative skills. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, will be critical as the post holder will be required to liaise effectively with key external stakeholders, the Board and the Senior Management team.

This is a job share role and the successful candidate will work 21 hours a week over 3 days on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

CAS offers excellent terms and conditions, including a total of 40 days leave and a pension scheme with an 8% employer contribution. We have a flexi-time scheme which enables our staff to work flexibly in line with organisational requirements, and as an inclusive employer we are happy to consider other flexible working arrangements where appropriate. For more details of some of the other benefits on offer to our employees, please download the CAS Benefits document in the application pack at the bottom of this page.
