More about the job

About the job

Hamilton CAB has secured a grant from the Scottish Government Drugs Services – Improvement Fund, administered by Corra Foundation, to test a new approach to advice provision. Working with the Beacons we will design and embed an advice service to meet the needs of individuals and families affected by drug and alcohol misuse and integrate advice within the whole systems approach to recovery.

Peer Support Workers will take an assertive outreach approach which will contribute to quicker access to the service for many. We know that the importance and value of support from others who have had similar experiences can have positive effects on people accessing services. You will be willing and able to share your personal experience on an equal level that supports, empowers and brings hope to the people you partner.

Successful candidates will provide information about the CAB advice service; support people to seek advice and provide practical assistance throughout the advice process.

You must have relevant lived experience, good communication and interpersonal skills, IT skills, be organised and have the ability to pay attention to detail. These roles will involve travel within South Lanarkshire. A full induction and accredited training will be provided.
