Under the direction of our Advice Services Manager, the Generalist Adviser will provide a holistic CAB advice service at locations in Renfrewshire, North and South Ayrshire.
Responsibilities include:
- interviewing clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to allow them to explain their problem(s) and to assist/empower them.
- Using the Citizens Advice Information System to find, interpret, and communicate the relevant advice and options available to the client.
- Acting for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating by telephone, or writing letters on behalf of the client.
- Negotiating with third parties such as statutory and non-statutory bodies, as appropriate.
- Ensuring that all work meets quality assurance standards.
- Maintaining detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.
