More about the job
Angus Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. We are a friendly and welcoming team made up of 16 paid staff and around 40 volunteers that offer generalist advice to clients alongside more specific projects. We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our Debt Advice team in the Bureau, to support the Senior Debt Adviser in managing the caseload of Debt clients, providing vital support to people in the Angus community.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of clients accessing our debt service, supporting clients from initial enquiries all the way through to providing both formal and informal debt options to clients as appropriate based on their circumstances. You will have the chance to work alongside our volunteer generalist advisers and our project staff where there are clients with multiple advice enquiries. There will also be the opportunity to promote the debt service at events and talks that we are invited to from time to time. We expect candidates to be self-motivated, reliable, have excellent teamwork, communication and organisational skills and be computer literate with a commitment to continuous improvement. They will understand the importance of excellent customer services and have a commitment to equality and diversity.
You will be based initially in our office in Arbroath, but there will be some travel to our Forfar and Montrose offices to meet service delivery needs. It is preferable if you have some flexibility around working hours as we work with some clients via early evening telephone appointments. This role is currently funded on a fixed-term basis for one year, which may be extended further subject to available funding.
