About the job

Reporting to the Team Leader General Service, you will ensure the provision of a high quality advice and information service to the public by supporting and assisting volunteer advisors during our busy drop-in sessions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide support to front line volunteer advisers working at different levels of ability and experience, particularly in relation to complex/unusual enquiries, by being available for consultation during drop-in sessions
  • Ensure quality of advice by carrying out regular case checking within CAS and National Standards Frameworks and highlighting any issues/training needs to the Team Leader

We operate a Triage system and an operational rota to ensure effective use of our resources. We currently hold SNS to Type III in Housing and Money advice and Type II in Welfare Rights and have a number of innovative projects and outreach provision.

You will be an experienced adviser and confident providing support to volunteer advisers in a front line CAB  setting. A demonstrable understanding of the needs of volunteers and of the importance of volunteers to the CAB  service is essential. You will have the ability to manage a dynamic busy public facing environment during advice session and to cope well under pressure
