More about the job

About the job

The Citizens Advice network in Scotland is the largest independent advice service in the country. Citizens Advice Scotland is a charity within this network – we act as a national organisation supporting and representing the service as a whole and the interests of citizens.

We are currently recruiting for a full time Development Officer to join our Development Team on a fixed term basis for 6 months.

Based in Edinburgh much of the post holder’s time is spent out in bureaux in Edinburgh and South East Scotland working with volunteers and paid staff. The successful post holder will be working with local Citizens Advice Bureaux and Citizens Advice Scotland colleagues to develop the service in Scotland locally, regionally and nationally. Development Officers also assist Citizens Advice Bureaux in providing a high quality, accessible and well managed service by advising and supporting their boards of directors and managers.

You'll bring an understanding and awareness of the voluntary sector, experience of working with Boards as well as managing or developing services and projects. All this will be backed up with excellent communication skills, including the ability to persuade and influence key stakeholders.  The job holder will travel extensively within Edinburgh and South East Scotland and throughout Scotland as required and will need to be flexible to attend occasional evening or weekend meetings.

For more information, please refer to the Job Pack which can be downloaded using the links below.
