Challenge Poverty Week 2021

Citizens Advice Scotland is supporting Challenge Poverty Week, which will be running from Monday 4 – Sunday 10 October.

How to get involved

Challenge Poverty Week is designed to highlight that poverty is a problem we can solve, and to showcase solutions we can all get behind. The week is an opportunity for us to raise our voice against poverty and unite with others in calling for a more just and equal Scotland. Citizens Advice bureaux are vital sources of support helping people who are facing poverty in Scotland and we are encouraging our network to also support this campaign.

The Poverty Alliance, who manage this week, have provided an extensive toolkit for those who wish to support the campaign, including social media graphics, suggested post content and policy asks and themes, all of which can be accessed on the Challenge Poverty Week website.

Online event - an opportunity to tackle fuel poverty

As part of this week, CAS are hosting “The Just Transition – an opportunity to tackle fuel poverty” online event on Tuesday 5 October at 10.30-11.30am, discussing the challenges of fuel poverty in Scotland, and the opportunities presented by the transition to net zero, and what a just transition means to consumers.
