CAB West Lothian run a fuel poverty advice project that will target tenants of Housing Associations who have tenants in the West Lothian area.

We work with the most vulnerable client and offer them practical advice and assistance to improve their situation and tackle fuel poverty issues.

The aims of the project are: - 

  • To ensure housing association tenants have access to a specialist service that will ensure they move out of fuel poverty by offering these tenants practical help/assistance
  • Volunteer advisers will be better informed on fuel poverty issues and how this can impact on clients

 

The worker will offer appointments and when necessary a home visit service.  Part of the role will also to be to up skill front line advisers with fuel poverty issues and provide training and carry complex casework.

Successful applicants will have experience in working in an advice setting and working with clients experiencing fuel poverty or have an extensive knowledge.  You will offer comprehensive and empowering advice which will enable them to avoid or get out of fuel poverty.   This work will included income maximisation and expenditure reduction by assessing their eligibility and accessing relevant grants and allowances.
