Angus Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people.
Angus Citizens Advice Bureau is looking for an enthusiastic and client-focused individual with experience of providing advice on issues such as fuel poverty, welfare benefits and housing to join us as a Warm and Well Project Caseworker to provide maternity leave cover.
The Warm and Well project provides specialist help and support to elderly and disabled clients on energy and income-maximisation matters throughout Angus. This involves visiting clients in their homes to ensure they get the help they need. Working alongside volunteers to provide the service, this role will also involve assisting the Operations Manager in recruitment, training and retention of Warm & Well volunteers.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions the project is currently providing remote assistance to clients whilst the role is carried out through a mixture of office and home-based working.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate relevant recent experience and knowledge of the wider welfare benefit system including Universal Credit. Applicants should also demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, be well organised and be proficient in using a range of IT tools to carry out their work, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Committed and supportive to the needs of others, the successful applicant will be able to work both on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
