We are looking for a conscientious and motivated trainee advisor who will be expected to, after an initial training period: interview clients, help them to clarify the issues by exploring the problem; providing information and advice and outlining the choices that the clients have, so they can decide what to do. The trainee advisor will also give practical help – for example filling in forms, doing a benefit calculation, speaking or writing to another agency on behalf of a client.
The trainee advisor will also record cases in accordance with Bureau procedures, and help out with basic office organisation, e.g. filing case notes, amending information.
The successful candidate will be aged between16-29 and will be a team player with good organisational and communication skills. A commitment to the work of the CAB and its partners is essential.
You will work 25 hours per week (over Monday to Friday) and will receive on-the-job training with an experienced supervisor. This is a 1-year traineeship during which you will be expected to attend regular training events to update your knowledge.
