Surgery Advice Worker (Part Time, Fixed term), Citizens Advice Edinburgh

Citizens Advice Edinburgh provides an outreach advice service to patients in seven GP surgeries in Edinburgh located at South Queensferry, Ladywell East, Ladywell West, Westerhailes, Craigmillar, Inchpark and Bellevue. This vacancy is to provide services to the Bellevue and Craigmillar surgeries.

The advice role involves working in partnership with the health service and GPs to improve patient outcomes. Research has shown that resolving problems with benefits, debt, employment, housing and family issues can have a positive effect on patient health. The service is also aimed at clients who have had a recent change in circumstances due to a health-related issue or diagnosis.

The surgery advice worker should be experienced in giving advice, and have an understanding of the role within the healthcare environment. The post holder will also require to maintain and develop links with other CAE specialists and external agencies.
