More about the job

About the job

Citizens Advice Scotland runs a series of national specialist services as projects which require centralised project co-ordination. We are currently looking for a Project Accountant who will work alongside Finance and the rest of the allocated project team, ensuring successful delivery and development.  The role is offered on a fixed-term basis until the end of April 2020.

As well as providing expert and timely financial project support to Budget Holders within Citizens Advice Scotland, your role will cover all aspects of initial funding proposals, budget compilation and monitoring. This includes ordering and spend within the online procurement, grant claims and reconciliations.

Initially, this role will be allocated to the Help to Claim project. Help to Claim is a comprehensive, enhanced support service which will be delivered by the bureau network. Citizens Advice Bureaux will provide the advice and support people need to submit their claim for Universal Credit and support them through to their first payment. Citizens Advice Bureaux will employ specialist advisers to deliver the service face to face, through webchat and telephony.

You will be a financial expert who is able to break down the complexities of management accounting to support Project Budget Holders who have a differing range of skills, using your communication and negotiation skills to aid this process. You have a methodical approach to work, able to plan and prioritise your workload and are comfortably using Finance systems.

This role offers you the opportunity to work at the heart of supporting Scotland's largest independent advice network, making an invaluable contribution to citizens’ lives.
