We are currently recruiting for the post of Project Coordinator for the National Kinship Care Advice Service on a fixed term basis until March 2019. This post will be a jobshare with the existing Coordinator.

Kinship carers provide full time care for the children of relatives or close friends, and the Kinship Care Service is a project funded by the Scottish Government to ensure kinship carers can gain access to the advice and support they require, and the benefits to which they are entitled. The purpose of the project is to deliver high-quality advice to clients via Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland and a dedicated kinship care helpline.

The post holder is responsible for the development and operational delivery of the project. This involves proving support to a team of four regional officers and providing regional and national support to bureaux as well as to assist local authorities to develop effective policy.

The main tasks of the Project Coordinator will include managing the contracts and partnerships with the Scottish Government and participating bureaux, monitoring delivery of objectives within budget, administering project governance arrangements, promoting the service and collecting and analysing statistics and social policy information.

The successful applicant will have experience of the management of contracts, projects, and budgets. The post holder should have a general understanding of advice work in Scotland , and should be interested in becoming aware of the issues affecting kinship carers.

CAS offers excellent terms and conditions, including a total of 40 days leave and a pension scheme with an 8% employer contribution. We have a flexi-time scheme which enables our staff to work flexibly in line with organisational requirements, and as an inclusive employer we are happy to consider other flexible working arrangements where appropriate. For more details of some of the other benefits on offer to our employees, please download the CAS Benefits document in the application pack at the bottom of this page.
