About the job

Applications are invited for the post of Energy Advice Caseworker from candidates who have an interest in energy, consumer and fuel poverty issues in the North-East of Scotland.  The ideal candidate will have experience of advice-giving, good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills to advise our clients in a sensitive manner, with an understanding of the needs and motivations of volunteers. The post-holder will also have experience of delivering training or talks to appropriate community groups to raise awareness of local fuel issues and help available to individuals.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference, working collaboratively with other Bureau specialists and generalist advisers to deliver holistic advice to clients, including resolution of fuel debt.

This post has been funded for one year through Citizens Advice Scotland by the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network, with a view to meeting the complex energy advice needs of people in fuel poverty in the North East.  Based in the Westhill and Banchory offices of the South West Aberdeenshire CAB, the post-holder will have the opportunity to develop in-house energy advice, support volunteer advisers and provide training and consultancy to advisers in other CABx in the North-East.
