The Citizens Advice network in Scotland is the largest independent advice service in the country. Citizens Advice Scotland is a charity within this network – we act as a national organisation supporting and representing the service as a whole and the interests of citizens. At the heart of the network there are 59 individual bureaux across Scotland, all operating as independent charities in their own right, which focus on providing support and advice directly to clients. Each of these organisations is a member of Citizens Advice Scotland. We believe that every citizen should have access to free, impartial and confidential advice that helps them make informed decisions, whenever they need it and however, they choose to access it.
Our vision is for a Fairer Scotland where everyone has the advice and information they need to realise their rights, and that the barriers to accessing those rights are effectively challenged.

Are you an innovative, forward-thinking and decisive strategic policy leader, passionate and driven by making a difference? Could you be our new Director of Impact?
In this inspiring role, your key mission will be to lead on shaping and influencing the external environment in which Citizens Advice Scotland operates, positioning Citizens Advice Scotland as both the leader and authority on citizen and consumer issues.
You will have Lead accountability for the ‘building brand’ and ‘advocacy and influence’ strands of our strategic plan, driving the development of an integrated, cohesive and evidence-based approach which places Citizens Advice Scotland at the heart of citizen and consumer policy. In addition, you will actively contribute to our two bi cross-cutting issues - Net Zero and Human Rights.
To do all this successfully, you’ll have a curious mind-set, an ethos of achievement and ownership and the ability to build successful relationships with our trustees, funders and members. Relationships are key to your success in this role; you will develop and maintain visibility and influence through building and nurturing high level relationships across government departments, advocacy and research policy bodies, continually seeking to bring the network message to bear in a way that has clear outcomes for our citizens and consumers.
This is a vast role with an unashamedly ambitious agenda and so within your extensive toolkit, we will look for you to demonstrate a creative ability to continue to build and lead a high performing policy, communications and advocacy function with a natural ability to bring people along with you.
Your experience of designing and affecting organisational change via collaboration and peer leadership will be convincing, and your track record of achievement in delivering successful outcomes, exemplary. Your ability to operationalise strategy and turn ideas into action will be your super-power.
