The Citizens Advice network in Scotland is the largest independent advice service in the country. Citizens Advice Scotland is a charity within this network – we act as a national organisation supporting and representing the service as a whole and the interests of citizens. At the heart of the network there are 59 individual citizens advice bureau organisations across Scotland, all operating as independent charities in their own right, and generally focusing on providing support directly to clients. Each of these organisations is a member of Citizens Advice Scotland. Also providing significant added value are the national elements of the service run out of Citizens Advice Scotland, such as the Extra Help Unit.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and creative person to join Citizens Advice Scotland as Digital Marketing Officer to help the network with communications around Brexit and to support the national services the organisation runs. This role is offered on a fixed term basis for twelve months.

The Digital Marketing Officer will provide communications support to Citizens Advice Scotland in the following ways:

  • Supporting citizens and the network with exiting the EU through co-ordinated communications and marketing.
  • Supporting the EU settlement project with communications and marketing.
  • Enhancing capacity within Citizens Advice Scotland to manage social media and marketing, specifically considering how to market services, using Brexit related projects as a template.
  • Adding additional capacity to the Communications Team by co-ordinating support for the national services Citizens Advice Scotland provides.

With experience of targeted digital marketing and strong planning and organising skills, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and prioritising their own day to day work load with overall direction and tasks driven by the Head of Communications.  In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills. You will have a good understanding of Scottish and UK media and UK political landscape. All this will be backed up with the ability and experience of managing budgets.
