About the job

The In-Court Advice project has been funded since 2004 to help litigants raise and defend Small Claim & Summary Cause actions. The project was expanded in 2012 to cover all of Tayside. Our current funding is to September 2016

We are looking for a caseworker with knowledge of the civil justice system with a sound knowledge of contract law to work in our In-Court Advice Project based in Dundee Sheriff Court for service provision in Dundee, Perth, and Forfar Sheriff Courts. Our emphasis is on client focus and quality of service provision.

The role will involve support to the Regional In-Court Adviser to assist unrepresented litigants through the civil court in small claim and summary cause actions. The Caseworker will be responsible for managing a number of cases which will involve providing advice, information, and assistance to clients with the emphasis on negotiation to provide the best outcome for the client.
