More about the job

About the job

Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people.  Our organisation continues to grow and expand, and we are now excited to recruit a Business Development Manager to lead the shaping of a sustainable future for CARF as the preferred advice provider in Fife.

Working closely with the CEO, the Business Development Manager will manage all business development activities and act as the driving force behind the generation of new funding agreements whilst maintaining the investment loyalty of existing funders.  As a key contributor to the success of CARF’s strategic management, the post holder will take responsibility for negotiation and implementation of service level agreements and contracts in line with the revision and delivery of CARF’s Business Plan. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for internal and external marketing of the organisation, acting as brand champion at all times.

The successful candidate will be a highly credible and experienced manager with exceptional communication and relationship building skills.  Agile decision making is key to this post, as is the ability to think quickly and creatively, and act with diplomacy.  You will have the skills and knowledge to develop and implement organisation-wide strategy, balanced with an understanding of the financial pressures facing Third Sector agencies. You will also have demonstrable experience of delivering successful funding applications in a similar Third Sector environment, in line with the standards of excellence expected at CARF.

You’ll have excellent presentation, promotional and written skills as well as a strong understanding of organisational financial management. Versatile, resilient and engaging, the successful candidate will demonstrate a transformative approach to business development and a commitment to CARF’s vision and values.
