More about the job

About the job

Peebles Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is a local, voluntary advice agency providing invaluable advice, information and support to the citizens of Peebles and Tweeddale. It is part of a wider Citizens Advice Network in Scotland and a consortium of CAB in the Scottish Borders but is an individual, independent Charity in its own right.

We believe that every citizen should have access to free, impartial and confidential advice that helps them make informed decisions, whenever they need it and however they choose to access it.

Peebles CAB is currently recruiting for a new CAB Manager to help oversee the day to day operating of the CAB and to support and develop our staff and volunteers who deliver high quality advice and support to the local community.

This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, highly organised, people person who has experience of working in the voluntary sector. Based in Peebles, much of your time will be spent in the Bureaux working with volunteers and paid staff but will also require networking with other organisations and forums and representing the CAB to other stakeholders. The post is varied and interesting and provides a great opportunity to support a local organisation that works with some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

An understanding and awareness of the voluntary sector and/or the advice sector would be highly advantageous to this role and experience of working with a diverse staff and volunteer team is also essential.

Peebles CAB offers excellent terms and conditions, including a total of 40 days leave (including public holidays) and a NEST Government Pension Scheme.
