More about the job

About the job

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), our 61 member Citizen Advice Bureaux (CAB), the Citizen Advice consumer service, and the Extra Help Unit, form Scotland’s largest independent advice network. Advice provided by our service is free, independent, confidential, impartial and available to everyone. We are champions for both citizens and consumers and in 2013/14 the Citizens Advice Service in Scotland helped over 330,000 clients in Scotland deal with over one million issues overall.

We are currently recruiting for two Administrators to join CAS; the first is solely to support the PensionWise service and appointment booking, and the second with a split between the PensionWise service and the Energy Best Deal project. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in providing efficient administrative support for two key areas within CAS. Both roles are initially for a fixed term period of around 12 months.

We are looking for two experienced, self-motivated candidates to provide efficient administrative support. You will provide a professional, responsive and accurate administration service in a fast paced environment.

You will have excellent communication skills, on the phone, by email and in person, with the ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure a high level of accuracy. You will be a team player, able to work on your own initiative and be willing to contribute ideas and initiatives to improve the operation and coordination of the team. In addition to having strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills, you will have experience of managing databases and work recording and reporting.

CAS offers excellent terms and conditions, including a total of 40 days leave and a pension scheme with an 8% employer contribution. We have a flexi-time scheme which enables our staff to work flexibly in line with organisational requirements, and as an inclusive employer we are happy to consider other flexible working arrangements where appropriate. For more details of some of the other benefits on offer to our employees, please download the CAS Benefits document in the application pack at the bottom of this page.

For more information about the roles, please refer to the Job Descriptions and Person Specifications which can be downloaded using the links below.

How to apply

To apply for this role, please send completed copies of the Personal Details Form, Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form, along with your current CV to: recruitment@cas.org.uk

Your application will be considered for both roles, however when applying it would be helpful if you could specify if you have a preference for either position.

In addition, please refer to the Job Description and provide a written statement that addresses how you meet the requirements of the role as detailed in the job specification. In the written statement, please provide examples which demonstrate how you meet the requirements.
