About the job

Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian are seeking to recruit an experienced adviser to deliver an advice service to clients with HMRC related issues, the adviser will:

1. Provide advice and support to HMRC customers who need additional help and assistance

2. Engage with clients who have digital inclusion issues, help solve their issues and empower them to use HMRC systems. This will include referrals to agencies to improve IT skills

3. Receive referrals by telephone or e-mail from HMRC extra help service. This will provide assistance on complex issues such as HMRC PAYE issues, special relief and appeals.

The successful applicant will have experience of advising on tax HMRC issues and carrying out casework on behalf of clients.

The applicant will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to targets/deadlines and have experience of producing reports for funders. Also required is proficiency in Word, Excel, e-mail and a knowledge of using a case management/recording system.
