Scams Awareness Month kicked off last week hosted by Nairn Citizens Advice Bureau. The staff and volunteers at Nairn CAB pulled out all the stops with their outdoor event on the high street in Nairn.
Gordon Robb, the Chair of SCOTSS and Trading Standards Manager at Highland Council, launched the event with a short speech, followed by presentations from CAS and Police Scotland.
Nairn CAB were then on hand to talk to local residents about scams and urge them to 'end the call, trash the email, rip-up the letter and close the door'.
The event was well attended with high foot fall due to strategic positioning, scam cupcakes and the local candy floss man setting up shop in the CAB a few steps away from the event!
The Community Action Team at CAS would like to thank Nairn CAB for putting on such a great event, and to SCOTSS, Police Scotland and Scottish Water for supporting the campaign.
If your CAB would like to get involved, there is still time to apply for a fast grant to support local campaigning - click on the link below to find out more.
