Do you know anyone who’s rented accommodation privately in Renfrewshire?

Why not ask them to take part in Renfrewshire CAB's survey on tenancy charges at

The Local Impact Project has been working with Renfrewshire CAB to find out more about charges by landlords and letting agents in the Renfrewshire area. Following on from cases handled by the bureau, and the Shelter Scotland Research Report "Premiums in the Private Rented Sector" (October 2011), Renfrewshire CAB is concerned that landlords and letting agents are making charges which are unlawful under the current legislation and cause financial hardship for tenants. Landlords and letting agents often claim these charges are legal and are rarely challenged about them.

Evidence collected from this survey will be used by Citizens Advice locally and nationally to raise awareness of tenants' rights and to campaign for good practice from letting agents and landlords.

If you know anyone who has been affected by these charges in the Renfrewshire area, please pass on the details of the survey! For more information on the campaign, please contact Helen York, Regional Project Officer for the West of Scotland, at
