CAS responds to £30m fund for low carbon heating

Citizens Advice Scotland has welcomed the Scottish Government announcement of a £30million  fund for low carbon heating infrastructure.

CAS Fair Markets spokesperson Dr Jamie Stewart said:

“This  funding is welcome, as increasing renewable heating will be an important way for Scotland to reduce emissions.

“While this investment is focussed on businesses and organisations, its  essential that similar packages are available to those who currently struggle to heat their homes. This will ensure that the benefits of renewable heating can be experienced by those who need it most.

“It is vital that the cost of cutting emissions doesn’t fall heaviest on the poorest people.

“The Citizens Advice network in Scotland helps you hundreds of thousands of people each year, and we can check to see if people could be paying less for energy or qualifying for schemes like the Warm Home Discount.”
