CAS conference celebrates 80th birthday of the Scottish CAB network

Today CAS been meeting to hold our conference and AGM. Over Nearly CAB staff and volunteers have travelled from all parts of Scotland to Cumbernauld for the event.

This year we are also celebrating the 80th year of the CAB network, so this anniversary has been the theme of the event.

On our first day we've heard speeches from our patron, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne and from Scottish Cabinet Secretary Shirley Anne Somerville, as well as from our Chair, Rory Mair and our Chief Executive Derek Mitchell.

Princess Anne also presented awards to a number of volunteers, and members saw a video charting the history of the network in Scotland, as well as a special birthday video from financial expert Martin Lewis.

You can catch up on the news of the event on our twitter account, and we will update this page tomorrow with more news from the final day of our conference.
