Consultation on the Mental Health Moratorium

CAS has responded to the Scottish Government’s Consultation on the Mental Health Moratorium as part of the Bankruptcy and Diligence (Scotland) Bill.

CAS led the call for this monumental addition to Scottish Moratorium which will introduce a bespoke version of the Statutory Moratorium. It is aimed at giving those with severe mental ill-health the time, space and compassion to focus first on their recovery from acute mental illness before having the breathing space to deal with their debts. 

The Financial Health Team , along with MATRICS and the  network, pulled together a response.
