What you can complain about

  • Any aspect of NHS treatment or patient care:
    • NHS hospitals and health centres
    • NHS family services (eg GPs, dentists, opticians, community pharmacists)
    • Community services (eg health visitors, community psychiatric nurses (CPNs), physiotherapists, community dieticians)
  • Issues which impact on patient care (eg delays, staff shortage, equipment etc)
  • The provision of NHS funded services (eg catering, cleanliness, transport, etc)
  • Public health issues where complainant her/himself has been directly adversely affected
  • Private hospital or care home where the treatment provided is funded by the NHS.

There are a few areas which the IASS caseworker cannot help with but your CAB can.  These areas are:

  • Any private care and treatment or services
  • Services which are not provided or funded by the NHS
  • Any issues where your social work department have responsibility for the provision of services
  • Matters which are or have been subject to an NHS consultation process
  • NHS job interviews.
