Citizens advice bureau fundraising

Each Scottish citizens advice bureau is responsible for securing the money it needs to deliver a service to its community.  Many bureaux could really benefit from some help with fundraising!

Bureaux gain their funding from a mixture of places.  Most Scottish bureaux gain some funding from their local authority.  Other ways of raising money include:

  • Awards from trusts and grant-making bodies
  • Donations
  • Corporate supporters (including the donation of goods and services)
  • Fund-raising events
  • Licensed street collections

Fundraising is one of the responsibilities of the CAB’s management committee.  If you want to know more, you can download a leaflet on volunteer fundraising for the CAB service here.  Alternatively, contact your local bureau to find out what you can do to help your CAB help more people
