Become a bureau volunteer
The CAB service in Scotland depends on volunteers.
If you are thinking about becoming a volunteer within the CAB service, you may like to download this file which gives a short introduction to the service and tells you the kinds of roles and responsibilities you would encounter. The file is an .exe file which is safe to download and run on your PC. The file is 3.64MB and, depending on your internet connection speed, make take up to a minute to download.
Almost 80% of citizens advice bureau staff in Scotland are trained volunteers. If all these volunteers were paid the average hourly wage for the time they give to their local bureau each year, we estimate that the cost would be more than £6 million. That’s quite a bill!
In this section of the website, you can find out about the different kinds of roles that volunteers undertake for their local bureau – and what they get out of it. You can also Apply to be a volunteer online, and find your local CAB to get in touch with them directly.
