Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland.
Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), our 61 member Citizen Advice Bureaux (CAB), the Citizen Advice consumer service, and the Extra Help Unit, form Scotland’s largest independent advice network. Advice provided by our service is free, independent, confidential, impartial and available to everyone. We are champions for both citizens and consumers and in 2015/16 the Citizens Advice Service in Scotland helped over 310,000 clients in Scotland deal with over one million issues overall.
We are currently recruiting for the post of Training Officer on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
The successful candidate will be required to work with the rest of the training team to provide a variety of learning opportunities and materials to support Citizens Advice Bureaux to meet CAS and external quality standards for advice work.
Applicants should have knowledge and experience of advice work, including welfare benefits, as well as training provision: needs analysis, design, delivery, presentations, group work facilitation and evaluation.
Good level of IT literacy (MS Office) and the ability to research and write learning materials, based on a variety of sources including primary legislation, and make them clear and comprehensible to people with various levels of experience are a must for this post.
This role will require occasional travel throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.
