Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland.

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), our 61 member Citizen Advice Bureaux (CAB), the Citizen Advice consumer service, and the Extra Help Unit, form Scotland’s largest independent advice network. Advice provided by our service is free, independent, confidential, impartial and available to everyone. We are champions for both citizens and consumers and in 2015/16 the Citizens Advice Service in Scotland helped over 310,000 clients in Scotland deal with over one million issues overall.

We are currently recruiting for the post of Quality of Advice Technical Support and Compliance Officer, initially on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

This is a great opportunity to join the CAS quality assurance team which is responsible for the implementation of the SACAB Membership Scheme audit programme.

The successful candidate will be required to provide technical support to the quality assurance team in ensuring that all Citizens Advice Bureaux (CABx) in Scotland are audited for compliance with the Association’s membership standards and that continuous improvement is achieved.

The postholder may also be required to provide  back-up for the EHU Quality Assurance Officer by carrying out audits of casework at all levels to ensure maintenance of service quality standards and high levels of technical accuracy.

Applicants should have an understanding of the CABx service and be able to demonstrate advice and case work experience in a generalist service across the following 10 topics: consumer; money advice; welfare benefits; employment; housing; family and personal matters; taxes; immigration and nationality; health and social care; and education.

Excellent communication and analytical skills as well as accuracy and attention to details are a must for this post.

We offer excellent terms and conditions of employment including 30 days annual leave and 10 public holidays, flexitime and a pension scheme.
