Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), based in Edinburgh, is the umbrella organisation providing support to Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) across Scotland.

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), our 61 member Citizen Advice Bureaux (CAB), the Citizen Advice consumer service and the Extra Help Unit form Scotland’s largest independent advice network.  Advice provided by our service is free, independent, confidential, impartial and available to everyone.  We are champions for both citizens and consumers and in 2013/14 the Citizens Advice Service in Scotland helped over 330,000 clients in Scotland deal with over one million issuesoverall.

The Digital Communications Officer reports to the Head of Information and Service Communications.

The purpose of this post is to support and oversee CAS electronic communication channels on a day-to-day basis, to make recommendations for their longer term development, and to implement or arrange for the implementation of agreed developments. This will include all CAS electronic communication channels and CAS social media presence such as Facebook and Twitter.

In addition to having excellent I.T. technical knowledge the Digital Communications Officer will support, coach and influence colleagues via expert guidance and troubleshooting, fixing problems that arise and provide training on the features of the channels when required.

This role will improve the usability of content and provide greater functionality of different channels and in conjunction with the Head of Information and Service Communications, set CAS strategy and monitor its effectiveness
